Learning Goal:
Concept 1: Identify "things" as either Living or Non-Living.
Concept 2: List and explain the characteristics of Living Things: (Living Things... are composed of cells, can reproduce/grow/repair, require energy, respond and adapt, have a life span, and produce waste)
Concept 3: Explain Cell Theory.
Concept 4: Demonstrate an ability to use a microscope to view microscopic objects.
Concept 5: Differentiate between a Plant and Animal Cell.
Concept 6: Label the parts of a Plant Cell.
Concept 7: Label the parts of an Animal Cell.
Concept 8: Describe the functions of the parts of a cell.
Concept 9: Connect individual cells to the function of organs (groups of cells)
Concept 10: Label the parts of a microscope.
Concept 11: Focus a microscope to identify different parts of animal and plant cells
Concept 12: List the three levels of our immune system.
Concept 13: Explain how the three levels of our immune system work together to protect us from pathogens.
